Enriched Bread Artists Studio

In the aftermath of the storm that blew the roof off EBA we are having a defiant "in your face weather!" photo-based exhibit. EBA has invited sixteen of our closest friends to collectively shake our fists at the sky. Think “Wizard of Oz” meets “James Bond” and you get Shaken, but not stirred an irreverent take on weather with courage and danger and bears, oh my!

We would also like to celebrate the launch of our partnership with Beauís Brewery.

Artists: Marion Bordier, Erin Molly Fitzpatrick, Meaghan Haughian, Adrienne Herron, Marika Jemma, Karina Kraenzle, Claude Latour, Catherine Levasseur-Terrien, Gavin McLintock, Don Monet, Brad Snow, Rémi Thériault, Cara Tierney, Sharon Vanstarkenburg, David Westrop, Joyce Westrop, Ted Willis and Justin Wonnacott

We had so much fun popping things last year we thought we'd do it again. Joining in the mayhem are EBA artists: Carl Stewart, Svetlana Swiinimer & Joyce Westrop. Guests are: Alexandre Brynaert-Brennan, Bronwen McKnight & Melody Jewitt from flo glassblowing, Uta Riccius, & Ted Willis from the Loft.

Storm damage at EBA

EBA & the Loft studios got hit by the same storm that toppled the main stage at Bluesfest. The roof of the top floor got ripped off. Water poured in and there was major water damage to some of the artists' studios. The building however is being put back together almost as good as new. Unfortunately, our cute little peak will have to go.

Perched on the hill above Little Italy on the edge of Hintonburg, Enriched Bread Artists is housed on the first two floors of the old Standard Bread Factory circa 1924, when bread was delivered by horse and wagon. Close to 100 years old, some of the original architectural features remain both inside and outside the building. Recently assessed by the City’s Heritage Department, the elements of architecture unique to this “industrial” style include the outside brickwork, windows, flooring and large pillars on both floors. The factory was converted to more than 20 artists’ studios in 1993. (From City of Ottawa Open Doors booklet)
