Member's bio: Taylor Boileau Davidson

Taylor Boileau Davidson was born in Ottawa in 1994. She recently graduated from the University of Ottawa’s BA major of visual arts with honours and studied at the Panthéon Sorbonne faculty of visual arts in Paris, FR in 2018. She is a multi-disciplinary artist, working primarily in sculpture, painting, and performance. She is the administrator for the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA). Taylor was awarded the Youth in Culture Pilot Program Grant from the City of Ottawa in 2019 and 2020.

Taylor is an emerging feminist artist whose work explores the boundaries between intuition, cultural stories, and mysterious spaces. Based in auto-biographical storytelling, her sculptural language explores contrasting textures and gestures to personify materials steeped in domestic symbolism. Taylor engages the viewer through the unexpected manipulation of familiar materials, and familiar stories told in an uncomfortable way.
