Maren Kathleen Elliott is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Edmonton Alberta. Now based in Ottawa, her modalities include illustration, mixed media, movement and sound/music. Maren is passionate about arts accessibility, storytelling, mental health advocacy and community activation. Her work has employed non-traditional materials, the integration of multiple modes of expression, and other techniques into creative meditations that bridge her passions for social sciences and human connection.
Maren received her BA with distinction (Psychology, Music) from the University of Alberta in 2016. She has worked as a distress line listener, practical support worker, outreach arts educator for all ages, dancer, and group fitness instructor. All of these experiences have shaped and influenced her creative practice. She has completed residencies at the University of Alberta’s Arts-based Research Studio and the Ottawa School of Art. Her work has been exhibited in multiple cities across Canada and can be found in private collections across Canada and the US.
